Influences of Cimetidine on the Phagocytic Function of the Reticuloendothelial System in Rats.

Abstract
|
|
|
To investigate the effect of cimetidine on the phagocytic function of reticuloendothelial system in rats, the phagocytic activity was assessed by carbon clearance method after intraperitoneal administration of cimetidine with various dosage, namely 0.2, 1, 5 and 25mg per 1.00gm of body weight/day respectively for one or two weeks.
I. In cimetidine treated group, the phagocytic activity was increased significantly than normal and control group.
2. The increased phagocytic activity was in proportion to the amount and duration of cimetidine administration.
